Step 1
Our real estate attorneys take this process upon themselves to survey and review the property. This includes various steps such as verification within the property registry, verifying the ownership, other legal situations that may present themselves, etc.
The Process:
- We talk to the Real Estate agent and ask for the necessary documents
- We verify all the valid documents
- We request additional required documents (for example, the Nota Simple) from the Property Registry or other organisations
Step 2
We use the services of our trusted advisors in the architecture industry to conduct a thorough survey of the property in question, and includes a detailed technical analysis. This is especially useful when the property in question is old.
The Process
- The architect will do a survey of the property. They may request for certain documents necessary to make their evaluations
- We will receive a report from the architect and evaluate the findings
Step 3
This contract between the buyer and seller acts as definite proof of an agreement between the two parties. It is a pre-agreement (Contrato de Arras), wherein the seller states their intention to transfer the property, and the buyer states their intention to purchase it at an agreed upon price. The buyer then makes a down payment.
The Process:
- We collect required documentation (e.g. IDs, proof of address, property deed, etc.)
- We draft the contract, which is then approved by both the parties
- Contract signing happens
Step 4
This involves us working alongside a notary to draft a purchase contract that satisfies and includes all the various aspects of the deal.
The Process
- We choose our notary
- We draft the contract with the help of the notary
- We ask for any additional information regarding the contract
- We thoroughly check the purchase contract and ensure its competency
Step 5
You won’t have any tax or paperwork stress. Our team will handle all the paperwork related to various taxes that are applicable in a case, like the Property Transfer Tax.

- We help register the property at the Property Registry, identifying the new owner (you)
